A new event in Converia – Overview

This article describes the steps you should consider when creating and preparing a new event in Converia and which checks are useful before publication.

Overview

When setting up a new event, first create the event and configure the required basic settings. You should then check the content and functions you have copied or newly configured.

The checks required depend on which areas you use for your event. These may include, in particular, the website (CMS), documents, paper submission and registration.

The following steps provide a starting point and direct you to the relevant detailed articles.

Prerequisites

  • You need access to Administration → All conferences → Create conference or the corresponding permission to create events for your organisation.

On the Converia Express installation, the Converia team creates the event in consultation with the organisers if they do not have permission to create their own events.

Configuration / Procedure

1) Create the event and check the basic settings

  1. Create the new event and specify the required basic information and languages.

  2. When creating the event, decide whether to copy data from an existing event.

  3. Then check the new event’s main basic settings.

Notes

  • Not all the areas described will necessarily be relevant to every event. In particular, check the functions you actually use for your event.

  • If you use an existing event as a template, you should specifically check the copied settings and content for the new event.

  • Test publicly used processes such as paper submission or registration before publishing them.
